Broughty Weather

Looking West over Grassy Beach this morning.

Well the overnight snowfall in The Ferry may not last long underfoot and the snow may not remain until Good Friday but I think its safe to assume that it will be a chilly Easter weekend ahead.
While we are used to changeable weather, this last few days takes the biscuit.
On Sunday (1st April) our family joined many folk on the beach at Lunan Bay enjoying the sun. My younger daughter, a veteran of the Broughty dook on New Year's Day, even took a short swim.
Two days later we have the central heating back on full blast.
In retrospect the weather on Sunday was playing us a kind of April fool.

All Dundee Schools Closed on Thursday for Fourth Day on the Trot

In an update on their website at 5.30pm Wednesday 1st December, the City Council announced that:

"All Dundee City Council schools will remain closed tomorrow (Thursday December 2)
because of the continuing severe weather conditions, the forecast of more snowfall and issues with safe access."

Perhaps recognising that this closure will almost complete a week of lost schooling and some pupils will be sitting their 'prelims' soon, they added:
"Pupils have an opportunity to work on-line through their Glow account*."

I wonder whether our housebound teachers are expected to take advantage of accessing their Glow accounts* too?

Glow is the world's first national intranet for education that is transforming the way the curriculum is delivered in Scotland.

All Council Offices and Facilities Closed Today Wednesday

The chief Executive of the council, David Dorward, has just emailed staff and elected members to advise that:

"I have decided to close all Council offices and facilities due to the deterioration in the weather overnight. This means that the City Chambers is also closed."
