Research released today by the Ernst & Young Scottish ITEM Club shows that Dundee City is one of the top five* local authority areas in Scotland most likely to be adversely affected by the cuts in public expenditure. The report ranks local authority areas based on the risks posed to each by cuts in public spending, combined with the ability of each local economy to mount a positive response.
I hope that the SNP administration running the City Council are thinking hard about this as they bring forward their programme of cuts in local services in Dundee.
*The other four local authority areas are: Midlothian, East Ayrshire, Inverclyde and Clackmannanshire.
