Blocked Gully Reported in Torridon Road

While out delivering election leaflets in the Torridon Road area on Sunday afternoon, I noticed that this gully in Torridao Road was not draining properly. This is close to the western end of the road close to its junction with Morlich Gardens.

This morning I have reported the choked gully to the Roads Maintenance Partnership.

Same day update
This afternoon, I received the following email message:

"Cllr Bidwell

 

I refer to your email below and would advise that the Roads Maintenance Partnership inspector for the area has removed the leaves from this gulley just now and will arrange for it to be visited by the gulley sucker once the operatives return to work next week.

Torridan Road Temporary Closure for Road Resurfacing Beginning Monday 9 July for 10 days

Torridon Road - Carriageway Resurfacing

Work is programmed to commence at the above location on Monday 9 July 2012, and will last for approximately 10 days.

The Contractor for the works is Tayside Contracts.

Vehicular access will be maintained to residents throughout the works, although we ask for vehicular traffic movements to be kept to a minimum, and some minor delays may be encountered during some phases of the works.  Various junctions with Torridon Road will require short term closures to enable surfacing works to progress, but vehicular access will be maintained via alternative routes, with appropriate signing in place.  No on-street parking will be allowed on the section of carriageway being worked on.

Please note that pedestrian thoroughfare will be maintained throughout the works.

Dundee City Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose of facilitating gas mains replacement works. The Order is expected to be in force for five weeks from 5 July 2010. Its maximum duration in terms of the Act is eighteen months.

The effect of the Order is to prohibit temporarily all vehicular traffic in Torridon Road from Nursery Road to Leven Street .

Pedestrian access will be maintained and vehicular access to properties will be maintained where possible.

An alternative route will be available via Nursery Road and West Torridon Road .
